I know, I know. I haven't updated in forever... almost a month and a half in fact!
October was a month of celebrations for us. We visited Houston to celebrate Viet's birthday, and had dinner with Amanda to celebrate hers. We attended the wedding of Natalie's friends Alia and Victor and a baby shower for Karmen. We celebrated the Astros' history-making playoff season and trip to the World Series (and mourned their loss once they got there). We REALLY celebrated Halloween this year, hosting our annual pumpkin carving party, helping Lisa and Geoff with their 2nd annual bash in Houston, and even attending a post-Halloween party (hey, at least we got good use out of our costumes!). And then we got to kick off November by seeing a Nickel Creek concert with Brad, Amanda and Carina. We love seeing them play - too bad they don't come to Austin more often!!!
In other news, Richie has become quite the player recently - sports player, that is! He organized a co-ed indoor volleyball league at Lifetime Fitness and is also playing softball. The volleyball team is doing very well. The softball team is not doing as well, but at least they're having fun - they wear Hawaiian shirts and have dubbed themselves the Rodeo Clowns! Between the two sports and poker, most of his weeknights are booked. Indoor volleyball tournaments have also started back up - his team took 2nd Place at a USAV tourney this past weekend.
With Richie so busy, Natalie's had plenty of time to pursue her interests as well. She auditioned for a new dance team in mid-October and was one of 16 selected for the team! She'll be performing for the new NBA Development League team, the
Austin Toros. The season runs from November 26th through the beginning of April, but rehearsals and promotional appearances are already keeping her busy!
I guess that about covers it... I have lots of pictures to post, so hopefully I'll be able to get to that soon. (And no, I
still haven't finished my Sequoia trip report!) Happy November, y'all!
