Sun, surf, and sand...

As July draws to a close, we'd like to wish a happy birthday to all the July babies!!

And a happy anniversary to Dad and Brigid too!

Looks like I'm going on 6 weeks now, so I suppose I ought to update this thing. I'll try to keep it brief - lots going on!

Let's see... where did I leave off?

Memorial Day weekend we spent mostly on the lake hanging out with Chris, Lisa and Geoff, and Geoff's brother Phil and girlfriend Amber who were visiting from Nashville. First weekend of June we hit Schlitterbahn with Court and Spence, Lisa and Geoff, and Nadia and Stefan - we had a great time! The next weekend, we met some friends out for a happy hour to celebrate friend Long's birthday, then spent Saturday and Sunday camping out on the lake at Muleshoe Bend with Chris, Brad and Amanda, Marc and Jessica, Anita and Dave - and SIX dogs.

Father's Day weekend we headed to Houston so that Richie and Milk (aka 'Stephen') could compete in a sand volleyball tourney in Galveston - they won their division and will now (finally!) be forced to play up a division. :) We also spent some time with Dad D and the rest of the D's, since Mom D and Stefani had just returned from the Philippines. Last weekend in June, Scooter was supposed to be visiting, but when the trip had to be postponed at the last minute the usual crew got together anyway for fun on the lake and to celebrate Lisa's birthday. Happy Belated Birthday, Scott and Lisa!!

Also in June, Natalie's book club had a nice treat... they won a contest that got them free copies of the book The Turtle Warrior by Mary Relindes Ellis and the chance to chat with the author by telephone at the meeting. That was a really neat experience!

Now on to July...

We celebrated Fourth of July with the D's, who were in town for the long weekend. We got in some time on the lake, some fireworks, some s'mores, and some golf. Good times all around!

Also noteworthy, Richie finally has his car back from the body shop, following his mid-May accident. It looks great and is even sporting an updated (looks more like the newer model) rear end! Unfortunately, our boat has been in and out of the shop pretty much all last month - it runs, but not very well. Also unfortunately, the problem has been a difficult one to diagnose and fix and therefore has been quite frustrating! This past weekend Richie did some poking around on his own and found a broken part that the shop seemed to have missed - we're hoping that once we replace it we'll be back on the lake and running better than ever.

Also, many congrats go out to friends Darryl and Fatima on their new baby girl, born last Thursday.
