No surprise, it's been another jam-packed week in our household!
Last weekend was crammed full of fun stuff... Friday night Natalie was supposed to dance at an Ice Bats game but the performance was canceled at the last minute due to issues with our music (sigh - 2 weeks of rehearsal down the drain!). Afterwards, we met up with Natalie's dance pal Alia and her friends to celebrate her birthday. (
Happy Belated Birthday, Alia!!) On Saturday, Natalie met up with Amanda and Amanda's sister Jennifer to do some wedding dress shopping while the boys played some (rainy and muddy!) touch football. Saturday night we attended the wedding of our friends Lisa and Patrick. It was beautiful and a lot of fun -
Congratulations you guys!!
Speaking of weddings, we got the good news on Sunday that birthday girl Alia got engaged on Saturday night! Love must be in the air! :)
There was softball again on Monday - Natalie couldn't make it this time due to book club - but this time we lost 9-5. :( And of course the usual stuff - open gym volleyball, poker night, and dance rehearsals.
And that's about it for us... Hope you have a great weekend!
Howdy!
Well, I know it's been a while since this has been updated and as usual, lots going on!
Natalie's ankle is improving, albeit frustratingly slowly!! She has been testing it out in Bat Girls rehearsals for the past couple of weeks and will return to the ice to perform tonight! However, the injury has not prevented her from attending a couple of Bat Girl social events - a gathering for choreographer Stacey's birthday and a 'get to know you' pajama party. Never mind that next weekend is the last performance of the season! It's been fun but Natalie is looking forward to reclaiming her weekday evenings.
Indoor volleyball season has picked back up and Richie's 'Crackers and Rice' team won a tournament in Austin on the fifth! We also traveled to College Station last weekend for a tourney, but they did not have as good of a showing there.
We've also been talked into joining a softball team called 'Bring It On'. Our first game was Monday (yes, Valentine's Day! Isn't that romantic?!?) and we won handily 17-2. As a first-time team we are proud of our win but we anticipate future competition to be tougher!
Speaking of Valentine's Day, we celebrated ours (along with our 10-year dating anniversary!!) on Sunday by making ourselves a lovely dinner of cajun grilled shrimp, veggie skewers and potatoes au gratin, with chocolate-covered strawberries and strawberry chocolate indulgence for dessert. Yum! Almost made us wish we made time to cook more often!
I think that's about it for us... I'm a little behind on uploading pictures but hope to catch up soon. Work's been so busy I haven't had much time to play online lately!
TGIF and have a great weekend!
