Hello again! Still really busy around here!
The weekend after our last post, Natalie performed at two Ice Bats games (Friday and Saturday) and had guests at both! (Thanks for the support guys!) Brad and Amanda were at Friday's game and Lisa and Geoff came to Saturday's... unfortunately Natalie left the expo center Saturday night with a badly sprained ankle! No, of course it didn't happen while dancing - she was jogging back to the trailer after the performance and stepped in a hole. After a couple of days on crutches and a week in a big boot thing, it seems to be improving. She hopes to be back out on the ice by next weekend (Feb. 4)!
The injury hasn't slowed us down too much though... in the past couple of weeks Natalie's been to a book club meeting, a baby shower for pal Courtney (whose daughter Bailey was born yesterday -
CONGRATULATIONS to them!) and to a bachelorette outing in Fredericksburg for friend Lisa G. Richie played in a volleyball tournament in Dallas this past weekend which unfortunately resulted in his team being eliminated in the quarter finals. Both of us have had hectic weeks at work too! We'll be glad when Friday gets here!
I think that gets us about up to date! Pictures should be updated soon too.
And while I'm here, I'll send a belated
Happy Birthday out to Dad B!!
Howdy Strangers!
Sorry it's been so long since I've updated this thing. Like everyone else around the holidays, we've just been swamped lately! Let me try to get ya up to date without being too long-winded...
Since I last posted we've been to Port O'Connor to celebrate Berger Christmas (Dec. 18), Houston to celebrate David Christmas and December birthdays (Dec. 23-24), Port Lavaca to celebrate Christmas with Natalie's mom and the rest of the Selphs (Dec. 25-26), and to Mad Island to celebrate Christmas with Natalie's Dad and Brigid (Jan. 8).
Probably the most exciting thing about this Christmas (other than the privilege of spending so much time with loved ones, of course!) was the SNOW!! It started falling in Katy on Christmas Eve day, and by the time we were done with Christmas Eve service in Port Lavaca that night we had good cover on the ground. The snow continued through Christmas morning and we think the total snowfall was somewhere around 12"!! All we know is that we had a blast making snowmen and having snowball fights. It definitely made for a magical holiday!
After the Christmas rounds, we dedicated New Year's weekend to catching up with friends in Houston... Dave and Jenn hosted a post-Christmas party at their house on Dec. 30 and Kendra hosted a New Year's Eve gathering. In between we managed to fit in some volleyball, touch football and a little country dancing before we had to head back to Austin! We really enjoyed getting to hang out with everyone - even though we're only a couple of hours away, we don't get to see each other enough!
It was a whirlwind couple of weeks that left us exhausted! We're looking forward to getting back in the normal swing of things (and maybe getting a little rest too!).
Beyond the usual holiday events, we also have lots of other things to celebrate! Richie sold his NSX recently and is (as I write this) driving its replacement back to Austin from North Carolina! The 'new' car is still an NSX but a few years newer, has a targa top, and is white!
Also, during Christmas, Mama B announced her engagement to Jon and they are planning a summer wedding. Our
CONGRATULATIONS go out to them!
And I can't forget ALL the birthdays we've missed either - Richie's was on the 20th and we celebrated with a nice dinner at Austin Land & Cattle. Belated
Happy Birthdays also go out to Richie's nephew Jason, our sister-in-law Lori, Natalie's cousin Nicole, our friends Fatima and Patrick, Natalie's Grannie, and Natalie's Aunt Tessie! (I hope I didn't miss anyone!!)
Happy 2005, y'all!
Good news! Pictures for the last part of November and most of December are FINALLY up on our
pictures page! One of these days I'll get caught up in here too. :)
