Hello again!

Looks like it's been less than two weeks since I've posted last! Woohoo!

This past weekend, Natalie danced at an Ice Bats game on Friday night and then we headed to College Station early Saturday morning for the USAV College Classic volleyball tournament. Competition at this tournament is always tough, but Richie's team played well throughout the day. Most of their games were decided by only two points! But in the end, they were a game short of going to the playoffs.

After the tourney, we met up with Courtney at her house and went out for dinner. We stayed the night and Courtney and Spence's place and got to spend some time playing with their daughter Andie. On our way back to Austin, we stopped to visit the newly dedicated Bonfire Memorial. It's hard to believe it's already been five years. The memorial was really well done, we thought.

Sunday afternoon we mostly spent doing chores, but we did have time for a yummy dinner at Chuy's with Brad and Amanda.

Weekend before last, Natalie danced at another Ice Bats game on Friday night. Saturday morning we headed to Mad Island where we spent the day trying to clear an invasive plant species called Deeprooted Sedge. As usual, we spent most of the afternoon and the evening relaxing and eating. We stayed the night there and headed back to Austin on Sunday.

I'm almost up-to-date with pictures from all this stuff so be sure to check out our pictures page.

I guess that's about it for us... Richie's still trying to recover from being sick the other weekend. All that's left is a persistent cough. :(

And in case we don't get a chance see you this weekend, we'd like to wish you a very happy Thanksgiving!

Yikes! November already? Feels like we went straight from summer to the holidays!! I thought we were supposed to have a break in the fall?

Halloween weekend we headed to Houston, where we co-hosted a Halloween bash with friends Lisa and Geoff at their house Saturday night. The party was a huge success! (Well, at least we like to think so!) Party prep and cleanup took up the majority of the weekend so we didn't have time for much else. We got back to Austin in time to hand out candy to trick-or-treaters, but the doorbell only rang a handful of times so we had lots of candy leftover!

This past weekend, Richie had his first indoor volleyball tournament of the season here in Austin. Natalie spent the earlier parts of the day rock-climbing with Brad and Amanda at Reimer's Ranch and caught up with Richie at the tournament in the afternoon. Unfortunately, his team was disappointingly eliminated in the semi-finals. After the game, the team and their families headed to Chuy's for dinner and to watch the end of OU/A&M football game (SOOOO close!). Sunday morning, we headed out to the lake (!) to get a few sets of runs in off of Richie's boss Kevin's boat. The weather was gorgeous, the water surprisingly warm, and we had the lake pretty much to ourselves! Can't ask for much more than that!

Unfortunately, Richie started feeling badly on the drive home and once we got to the house pretty much headed to bed for the rest of the day - and Monday too! - with flu symptoms. :( No fun! He's still got a bit of a cough but otherwise seems back to his usual healthy self. Make sure you're all taking your vitamin C!!

We're still busy with volleyball and dance during the week. Last night we had a chance to spend a little time with Karmen and Tim, who we hadn't seen in ages, at the UT/A&M volleyball game. The #13 ranked Ags put up a tough fight against the #9 ranked t-sips but they were eventually outscored in 5 games.

Also, some people have been asking Natalie about coming to see her dance at Ice Bats games. FYI, the game schedule is here. The Bat Girls perform on weekend home games... the team splits up so that each dancer will generally only be dancing once a weekend. There is no set schedule, but if you're interested in coming Natalie can most likely get herself scheduled for the game that is most convenient for you (as long as you let her know by the Monday before). Beyond that, she tends to choose Friday night games in order to keep the rest of the weekend open. So if you're ever interested in coming, let Natalie know (up until 6 PM the day of the game) and she will most likely be able to set aside a couple of tickets for you at will call.

That's about it for now! Hope you all have good weekends!
