Okay, okay. Brad's note in the guestbook convinced me to finally update this thing. Let's see if I can remember that far back...
Last weekend (that would be April 23-24 for those keeping track) was NSteXpo here in Austin. That's basically an excuse for NSX owners in Texas to get together and admire each other's cars. So Richie had a couple of events involved with that - he got to dyno his car and go go-kart racing with the other sports car guys.
Besides that, we met up with the ex- and current-Motorola crew (although I guess now it's Freescale?!?) for a BBQ Friday afternoon. Friday night, we hung out with Lisa and Geoff at the lake haunts - Johnny Fin's and Carlos 'n' Charlies. Saturday, we headed out to the lakehouse to help get their boat and jetskis in the water and ready for summer fun! The weather wasn't cooperating though (cloudy, windy, rainy) so we didn't get to play much. Saturday night, the four of us went out to Z Tejas and then country dancing at Dallas. Mucho funno. Sunday, it was raining again so nothing too exciting. Brad and Amanda came over for a while and we watched movies.
Last week, Natalie hosted her book club meeting and Richie kept busy with volleyball stuff.
Weekend before last (April 16-18), we took a long weekend trip to Big Bend to hike/backpack the Chisos Mountains. It was a fun trip, despite the scary thunderstorm that blew in while we were camped up in the mountains! Pictures (if you haven't already seen them) are on the
pictures page.
Week before that we went to see the female version of
The Odd Couple at the Paramount Theater. Our tix were front row center (thanks Dad B!) and there were a lot of celeb-types in the cast (the kind where you'd recognize the face but not the name), so that was a lot of fun. The genie lady from
I Dream of Jeannie was the lead. And you can't go wrong with Neil Simon!
Easter weekend (yeah, long time ago!), we went to Houston/Galveston so that Richie and Viet could play in a sand volleyball tourney there. The boys got second place (yes, again!) and Natalie got some good roller-blading in. The weather was GORGEOUS until our drive home, when thunderstorms were pounding Houston. We made it safely back to Katy where we had a candle & flashlight-lit dinner with Mom & Dad D, whose electricity was out.
Easter Sunday, we drove to Port Lavaca to celebrate with Mama B, Grandad, and the rest of the Selph clan (minus Katie and Major). We went to Easter service and then had a lovely dinner (followed by a lovely nap) before heading back to Austin. It was a whirlwind weekend!
WHEW.... I think I'm all updated now. Happy?!? ;)
Yeah, yeah... I know I'm way behind. But the picture page has been updated! :)
Oops, just realized it's Friday afternoon and I haven't posted in here all week!
Let's see...
Last weekend, Lisa and Geoff came to town to hang out at the lakehouse. We met them for a late dinner (and of course, dessert!) at Cheesecake Factory Friday night. Saturday morning, Richie had an indoor tournament in San Antonio, so he left really early for that. (His team finished second in their division.) Natalie and Lisa and Geoff had breakfast and lounged in the hot tub for a while before Lisa and Geoff headed out to the lake. Natalie spent the rest of the afternoon and evening doing chores around the house and then attending a wedding (her boss's).
Sunday, we got some things for the house - ceiling fans for the guest bedroom and back porch and curtains for the master bath. Brad and Amanda brought their kayaks and we brought our bikes down to a park near our house which has a little paddling lake and some hike and bike trails, so we got in a few hours of outdoor time before it got dark (gotta love those extra daylight hours!!).
Our biggest news lately is that Richie found someone to sponsor his indoor volleyball team for their trip to Nationals in June. Having that sales and marketing experience sure comes in handy sometimes!
Other than that, we're just staying busy with the usual stuff. We're looking forward to seeing everyone this weekend - and if we don't see you, hopefully you have a wonderful Easter weekend!
