It's been a busy week for us, as we're trying to get caught up and work and get our house back in order after our trip. But I've finally posted our
trip report, so if you're interested, go read it! Or if you want the pictures only version, check out our pictures page.
Happy Thursday!
WE'RE BACK!! (From our amazing outdoor adventure in Utah and Wyoming, that is!) Trip report and pictures will be coming up soon, so keep an eye out!
In the meantime, we'd like to wish the happiest of birthdays to friends Micah and Joy. Also, belated birthday wishes to Geoff and Kerry, whose birthdays we missed last week.
Have a great Monday!
Good morning and Happy Tuesday! Amazingly, we know no one that has a birthday this week. ;)
Last weekend was filled with relaxing fun on the lake. Viet and Chris came up from Katy and Ramsey joined us from Fort Worth. Brad graced us with his presence when he wasn't required to be at parties thrown in his honor. We hit the lake in style this time with our new Grill 2 Go Fire & Ice grill/cooler combo (courtesy of Viet & Chris - thanks guys!!!). This thing is awesome:
Besides just the cool factor, it let us stay out late on the dock, taking advantage of the glassy water after everyone else went in, and eating by the light of a gorgeous sunset. Whoop!
We were actually blessed with incredible water for the majority of the weekend, so we took full advantage. Much sick face was busted. Check out the
pictures to see more.
Last night, Richie and I had a date night at the Round Rock Express game, courtesy of free tickets from Natalie's company. An added bonus was that it was $1 hot dog and soda night. Woohoo! Too bad the weather didn't want to cooperate... the game suffered from a rain delay, delay to fix the lights after a thunderstorm knocked some of them out, and serious lack of good play from the home team. We left just ahead of a deluge of rain in the 8th inning, leaving the Express down 9 to 1. But not before Natalie stuffed herself silly with caramel popcorn. Yum! Apparently Round Rock staged somewhat of a comeback after we left and the game ended up 10-4. Ahh, minor league baseball. Gotta love it.
TGIF and Happy Birthday to Mom Sheryl!!!
Also, congratulations to Natalie's cousin Nicole, who's getting pinned for her R.N. degree today. And a late Happy Birthday (yesterday) to Richie's godson, Paul Andrew!
It's been a fairly quiet week in our household, so not too much to report. Richie went to play indoor volleyball on Tuesday (first indoor of the season?), and Natalie's been trying to get her feet (and the rest of her too!) in shape for their upcoming backpacking trip. The goal is to only have minimal blisters this time!
And I guess I have to mention the record-breaking heat we've been having... 108F yesterday! Not that it feels all that different to me after about 100F.
It looks like it will be another weekend on the lake, as we're hosting out-of-towners Viet, Chris, and Ramsey. Should be a good time! Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!
Good afternoon and happy Monday! Work's been a little hectic today so I'm a little late in getting our updates posted.
First off... Happy birthday to Courtney (today) and Ramsey (Saturday)! And congratulations to newlyweds Marc and Jessica (Saturday, in Nebraska)!
And now for a weekend recap... Friday night we went to have dinner with our neighbors Salina and Keith. They got married 2 weeks after we did and have a new addition to their family - an adorable baby boy! We're looking forward to getting to know them better.
Saturday, Brad, Richie and I headed to San Marcos. No, not to fight the tax-free weekend crowds at the outlet malls!! Our cousin Nicole was having a pool party to celebrate her upcoming graduation as an R.N. Here she is, playing with a friend's daughter:
We had to leave the pool party a little early to make it back in time for Ted and Jill's Austin wedding reception (they tied the knot July 18 in Iowa). It was a casual party at Buffalo Billiard's downtown, and was a lot of fun! Here's Richie with the happy groom:
Sunday we got a group together to hit the lake for some sun, floating, and of course... yet another round of crotch floatie alleyoop tube dunk. The fun never ends. ;)
Despite all the activities, it actually felt like a pretty relaxing weekend! As always, for more pictures from the weekend, check out our
